Emil Frey Racing eagerly awaits DTM Season Finale at Hockenheim

The DTM season finale will take place at the Hockenheimring this coming weekend, where a thrilling three-way battle for the championship is in the offing. For Emil Frey Racing, this means the end of its first season with the new Ferrari 296 GT3 - and the end of its debut-year in the highly competitive DTM.

For almost 40 years, the DTM has been the spearhead for both professional teams and professional racing drivers. This year's top-class-field saw a total of 14 teams compete with six different brands. Emil Frey Racing took part for the first time in 2023, already the 35th season of the championship - and managed to impress with a podium at the season-opener in Oschersleben and a race victory at the Lausitzring.

The past 14 races have been like a rollercoaster ride and even though they were disappointed last time out at the Red Bull Ring, the team is hoping all the more to end the season with a top result. Especially, since the Hockenheimring suits the Ferrari 296 GT3 very well with its various demands. The combination of top speed, braking stability and tight corners, as found in the famous Motodrom, suit the Italian racing car.

In the team standings, Emil Frey Racing is in seventh place with 119 points - to make the leap into the Top-5, the Swiss team needs to score at least 19 points in the last two races. Even though the team is not in contention for the championship, they will do everything they can to put in a strong performance in the last two races.

The final DTM-weekend will take place at the Hockenheimring from 20th to 22nd October 2023. The weekend will start with two Free Practice sessions on Friday at 10.50am and 03.05pm for 45 minutes each. Qualifying on Saturday at 9.30am will determine the starting grid for the race on the same day, which will start at 1.30pm. On Sunday, qualifying will also take place at 9.30am, with the race again at 1.30pm.

Jürg Flach, Technical Director: "During the season finale in Hockenheim, it's important for us to put in another good performance, as we didn't fight very happily in the last two DTM races. We had a competitive car in the Sprint Cup races as part of the GT World Challenge, so we have a good basis for the upcoming race weekend. Our goal is also to decide the Pitstop Challenge in our favour."

Even though the Red Bull Ring was a bit difficult, we saw an upward trend in the last race weekends. We have already been to Hockenheim and were on the podium in the GT World Challenge.
