Emil Frey Racing ready for a fresh start at the GT World Challenge Sprint Cup in Magny-Cours

After a weekend of contrasts in Misano, Emil Frey Racing heads with clear focus to Magny-Cours for the third round of the GT World Challenge Sprint Cup. While the #69 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo of Thierry Vermeulen and Ben Green finished in the Top-5 twice at the last round, the #14 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo of Matteo Cairoli and Konsta Lappalainen is equally determined to get back among the points in Nevers, France. The goal is clear: a clean, strong weekend.

The Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours sets the stage for the third round of the 2026 GT World Challenge Sprint Cup. From 31st July to 2nd August, Emil Frey Racing takes to the 4.411-kilometre circuit with the #14 and #69 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo – a track that rewards precision set-up and error-free driving above all, with its tight chicanes, slow-speed corners and technically demanding layout.

After the weekend in Misano that left the team with mixed feelings two weeks ago, the aim in Magny-Cours is to reset and deliver. The #69 Ferrari of Thierry Vermeulen and Ben Green impressed with consistently strong performances and underlined once again just how decisive perfect pitstop work can be in the Sprint racing. For the #14 Ferrari of Matteo Cairoli and Konsta Lappalainen, track limits issues in qualifying and a technical failure in the second race prevented a stronger result. In Magny-Cours, everything needs to come together.

Once again, the first race on Saturday evening starts at dusk and will be concluded under floodlights, which is a format the team is already familiar with from Misano. The second race on Sunday afternoon then offers the opportunity to round off the weekend with another strong result.

There is every reason to believe that Emil Frey Racing can perform as a united force in Magny-Cours and deliver with both Ferrari 296 GT3 Evos where they belong: in the points.
