Emil Frey Racing: With full throttle into the 2025 season
Safenwil – 06th March 2025
After a successful 2024 season, Emil Frey Racing is continuing its successful journey with the Ferrari 296 GT3. In 2025, the Swiss team is looking ahead to an exciting challenge over a total of 20 race weekends, in which the team will once again compete at the highest level of motorsport in three championships.
Emil Frey Racing has established itself as a permanent fixture on the international motorsport stage in recent years and is setting a special highlight with the entry of three Ferrari 296 GT3 in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM). In addition to the Englishman Jack Aitken, who celebrated three victories in the DTM last season with his #14 race car, the promising young talent and protégé of Max Verstappen, Thierry Vermeulen (#69), remains a permanent member of the team. The driver trio is completed by Ben Green (England), who impressed with strong performances in the GT World Challenge last year and will take behind the wheel of the #10 Ferrari in 2025.
Emil Frey Racing proved its strength in the highly competitive Sprint Cup of the GT World Challenge with one Pole Position, a race win and a total of four podium finishes. The successful driver duo of Ben Green and Finn Konsta Lappalainen - the third-placed drivers in the 2024 championship - will also line-up together in the new season to build on their successes. Thierry Vermeulen will also remain loyal to the Sprint Cup and will start alongside Chris Lulham in 2025. The Englishman also comes from the talent grounds of Verstappen.com Racing and has attracted particular attention in the E-sports scene in recent years.
The collaboration with Emil Frey Sportivo will continue in 2025 as part of a customer programme in the Ferrari Challenge. Giacomo Altoè won the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli title in 2024 after an impressive seven race wins. This year, the Swiss team from Safenwil will be competing with two talented young Swiss drivers: high-flyer Qwin Wietlisbach and Jasin Ferati.
With a high-calibre driver line-up, technical excellence from Ferrari and a strong team performance, Emil Frey Racing is heading into the new season fully motivated. The season will kick-off with the Ferrari Challenge in Monza on the last weekend in March, and then the DTM will finally start in Oschersleben on 26th and 27th April. This will be followed by an exciting racing calendar stretching all the way to the season finale at the Hockenheimring on 5th October.

TEAM QUOTES - Emil Frey Racing
Lorenz Frey-Hilti, Team Principal
“With our involvement in three championships and now three cars in the DTM, we are facing an intensive 2025 season. Our goal is to be able to fight for top positions in all three championships. We are highly motivated and ready for the challenge and are looking forward to the first races.“
Jürg Flach, Technical Director
“Last year's season brought good results in the GTWC and DTM, but ultimately we lacked the consistency to be right at the front. With three cars in the DTM, our goal is to set further accents on the performance side, to be stronger as a team and to be in the race for the 2025 championship. The test phase has already begun, and we have got off to a successful start.“
DRIVER QUOTES - Emil Frey Racing
Jack Aitken (Great Britain)
“It's a pleasure to contest another season in the DTM with Emil Frey Racing. We have a package with which we can win races, but the goal this year is clearly to fight for the title. I'm really looking forward to it and we're already busy preparing for the coming season.“
Thierry Vermeulen (The Netherlands)
“I am really super happy that I can continue my collaboration with Emil Frey Racing and that I will be competing in these two strong championships. We have already prepared very well for the new season throughout the winter. Everyone in the team knows their job and I also know the areas in which I need to improve.“
Ben Green (Great Britain)
“I'm expecting a very exciting season. After our success last year, I have a good feeling about expanding my programme with Emil Frey. I think, together with Jack and Thierry, we will form a great team and push each other to peak performance. I'm also looking forward to competing with Konsta in the Sprint Cup again, and maybe this year it will be enough for the championship title.“
Konsta Lappalainen (Finland)
“I'm delighted to be able to compete in the Sprint Cup with Ben again. With the same package, we obviously hope that we can drive at the front and of course fight for the title. Third place in the championship last year was great, and we know that it won't be any easier this year either, but we will work hard for our successes, and it will certainly be another fantastic year.“
Chris Lulham (Great Britain)
“Competing alongside Thierry Vermeulen for the Sprint Cup as part of the Verstappen.comRacing programme is an exciting opportunity and a big step for me, especially in a proven team like Emil Frey Racing. I've really enjoyed my experience with the Ferrari 296 GT3 so far in pre-season testing and we've set our sights high for the coming season.“
Qwin Wietlisbach (Switzerland)
“It's a big dream come true for me to be able to drive with Emil Frey Racing. With great anticipation and passion, I am confident that I will have a successful season with the whole team.“
Jasin Ferati (Switzerland)
“I am delighted to be taking part in the Ferrari Challenge with Emil Frey Racing. I feel very comfortable in the team and enjoy working with the mechanics, engineers and my team-mate. So there is no reason why we can't achieve great results.“
