Facts
The beginning
The first motorcycle race was held here on 26 May 1927, in front of a crowd of more than 130,000 spectators.
Through the middle of town
The track initially ran through the town of Hohenstein-Ernstthal. Races ceased to inconvenience local road users when the circuit was redeveloped in 1996.
Rolling hills
The Sachsenring is nestled in the gently rolling hills in the district of Chemnitz.
